Posted in 8+ Months, 8+ Months Development, Nutritional Information

I’d like to tell you about the five different food groups that you should be feeding your baby on a daily basis to ensure that they get enough good nutrition.

The first one is carbohydrates and where possible, you should be choosing whole grain carbohydrates. This includes things like cereals, breads, and other grains and these are essential for ensuring that your baby has enough energy for growth and development

Second food group is protein. Protein foods are really important for strong muscle development and includes food such as meat, fish, poultry, legumes, as well as eggs.

The third food group is dairy. Really great food group for your baby to ensure that their muscles and their bones and their teeth develop very well and provide essential nutrients such as calcium. Where possible, you should be using full fat dairy products for your baby at least until the age of 2 years so these includes things like cheese, yoghurt and milk.

The fourth food group is vegetables. Vegetables provide a range of minerals and vitamins that will support optimal growth and development for your baby.

And the fifth food group is fruit. Fruit is a wonderful source of carbohydrates to provide that energy for your baby and as well as minerals, vitamins and other good nutrition.
